TIME TO DELIVER ZERO MALARIA – KEDI 2023 MALARIA AWARENESS MONTH
The fierce battle against Malaria has taken a more purposeful turn globally as more individuals and corporate bodies have now seen the need to contribute their quota in different measures to ensure a malaria-free world.
Burdened with the increasing mortality rate of Malaria in developing countries with Nigeria as the country with the most prevalent cases, KEDI Healthcare Industries Nigeria Limited championed a thorough Malaria Sensitization and Donation Campaign across the country having set the month of April aside for this noble cause.
As it is her custom every year, KEDI invested heavily in an intensive and purposeful massive public enlightenment campaign both online on all her social media platforms and offline at all her offices nationwide. Different intensive sessions were handled by her seasoned Lecturers who left no stone unturned as they educated the public on the prevention, causes, complications and treatment of Malaria at her weekly seminars throughout the month of April.
This year’s activities were flagged off with series of public enlightenment posts about Malaria and its complications on all the Company’s social media platforms and on Thursday, 27th April, 2023, a commemorative TALK TO KEDI broadcast was held to further inform, educate and enlighten the public about the deadly disease as well as the Company’s initiatives mapped out to help them combat Malaria. The broadcast took place on the Company’s Facebook page @kedihealthcareindustries and Instagram account @kedihealthcare_official and featured a Seasoned Malariologist – Dr. Oluwatoyin Muhammed who delivered the intended message and provided answers to the questions asked by the viewers.
Apart from the thorough public enlightenment campaign on Malaria, KEDI also stretched her hand of love to EIGHTEEN LOCAL COMMUNITIES mostly affected by Malaria in states where her Branch and Regional offices are located nationwide and this year’s edition was massive.
Some of the communities which were visited include: Odofin Community in Abeokuta, Rumukurushi Community in Port Harcourt, Agudama-epie in Yenogoa, Ndiaga Village in Enugu, Ogida Community in Benin, Mai Anguwan Kusu in Bauchi, Apata Community in Ibadan, Mogan Iya Aro Community in Ilorin, Panisau Community in Kano, Sarkin Ungwan Dosa Community in Kaduna, Dei Dei Village in Abuja, Mbak Etoi Community in Uyo, Kwanam Waya Natari Village in Yola, Itele Village in Lagos, Dala Community in Maiduguri, Ekwulobia Community in Anambra amongst others.
The Malaria Awareness & Donation took place between Tuesday, 25th of April, 2023 and Saturday, 30th of April, 2022 had in attendance thousands of people comprising inhabitants of the selected communities as well as guests from neighboring communities who gathered together with so much expectance and elation to receive not just the gift items to be donated but also the health and wealth that KEDI offers.
In all the communities visited across the country through our Branch and Regional Offices, about 2,000 Insecticide-treated Mosquito Nets, 1,650 packs of our highly efficacious antimalarial tablet – Qinghao Capsule, 3,600 copies of our detailed Malaria Pamphlet, 1, 650 packs of KEDI Gum Care Toothpaste were distributed to the attendees present.
The leaders and inhabitants of the host communities expressed their gratitude to the management of KEDI as they received the gifts and the health and wealth message of KEDI with great excitement. Many of the inhabitants of the communities visited registered immediately to enjoy the life-changing compensatory packages that KEDI offers.
As a reputable healthcare organization, KEDI will continue to exert efforts in the global fight against Malaria until the deadly disease is eradicated in the African continent and all over the world.
