KEDI 2026 MALARIA MONTH DONATION OUTREACH: AN EXPRESSION OF IMPACT, COMPASSION & TRANSFORMATION

KEDI 2026 Malaria Month Donation Outreach, proudly sponsored by KEDI Impact Fund, stands as one of the most impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives undertaken by KEDI Healthcare Industries Nigeria Limited. The outreach was designed not only to provide relief materials to malaria-prone communities but also to strengthen awareness, deepen public health education, and reinforce KEDI’s long-standing commitment to community development.

Every year, KEDI sets aside the month of April as its Malaria Awareness Month. This year, in addition to the 10-day educational Myth vs. Fact campaign conducted across all social media platforms to demystify common misconceptions and misinformation about malaria, KEDI also embarked on a donation outreach to empower 25 local communities across the country.

The outreach activities were marked by strong community participation, warm reception, and an atmosphere of gratitude and hope. Residents in each location expressed excitement as the KEDI donation team arrived with both educational materials and essential preventive items aimed at reducing malaria transmission.

The communities visited include: Ukana Community in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; Ajara Community in Badagry, Lagos State; Ijagbo Community in Ilorin, Kwara State; Isiuwa Community in Edo State; Jogana Community in Gezawa, Kano State; Oba-Ile Community in Akure, Ondo State; Ilupeju Oja-Odan Community in Ogun State; Kofar Ran Community in Bauchi State; Kuje Community in the FCT, Abuja; Amawbia Community in Onitsha, Anambra State; Academy Olomi Community in Ibadan, Oyo State; Ikirun Community in Osun State; Egbene II Community in Enugu State; Oyigbo Community in Rivers State; Modire Community in Yola, Adamawa State; Imiringi Community in Bayelsa State; Anguwan Pate Jaji in Kaduna State; Obi Quarters in Asaba, Delta State; Isiahia Community in Osisioma, Abia State; Gboko Community in Benue State; Sagamu Community in Ogun State; Zing Community in Taraba State; Ringim Community in Jigawa State; and Obubra Community in Cross River State.

The donation campaign took place between 16th April and 28th April, 2026; during which thousands of residents gathered with excitement and anticipation.

Across all visited communities, KEDI donated nearly 2,000 packs of branded insecticide-treated mosquito nets, close to 2,000 branded buckets, over 2,000 packs of Qinghao Capsules, nearly 2,000 packs of KEDI Nano Silver Antibacterial Soap, over 2,000 pieces of KEDI Car Award Hand Fans, and specially designed malaria awareness flyers. These resources were carefully selected to address both prevention and education, ensuring a holistic approach to malaria control. The total value of the donated items ran into multiple millions of naira.

In Gboko, Sagamu, Ringim, Zing, and Obubra communities, residents also benefited from free malaria testing. Following the tests, KEDI’s anti-malaria product—Qinghao Capsule was distributed to both diagnosed individuals and others as a preventive measure.

Beyond material donations, the outreach placed strong emphasis on health education and behavioral change communication. Community members were sensitized on the causes and transmission of malaria, preventive measures such as proper sanitation and mosquito control, the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, and environmental practices that reduce mosquito breeding.

This dual approach of education and material support significantly enhanced the effectiveness of the outreach, ensuring that communities were not only equipped but also well-informed.

Across all visited communities, the reception was overwhelmingly positive. Traditional leaders, youth groups, women associations, and residents expressed deep appreciation for KEDI’s intervention. Many described the outreach as timely and life-saving, especially in areas where access to preventive healthcare tools is limited. One community representative noted that the initiative had not only provided relief but also renewed confidence in collective efforts to combat malaria.

The successful execution of KEDI 2026 Malaria Month Donation Outreach, reinforces the organization’s unwavering commitment to improving lives through health-focused interventions and sustainable community development.

As malaria continues to pose a major challenge across Africa, KEDI remains resolute in its mission to support prevention, education, and eradication efforts at the grassroots level. Through collective effort and shared purpose, KEDI continues to demonstrate that meaningful change is possible when compassion meets action.

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can defeat malaria.
